Never take NO for an Answer.....

I constructed this blog because I have never found any resources which accurately describe the condition I have, and I have done significant research in order to draw that conclusion. I also know I'm not the only one with the same problems.

In my case, I started to notice that something wasn't right when I was 25 or 26, and began seeking treatment soon after. I saw many doctors (both NHS and privately), had multiple investigations by specialists and yet there was a little anyone could suggest. It took me until I was 36 before I had any acceptance that anything was wrong, and it has taken even longer to piece the puzzle together.

In the last five years, I've made my body my own research guinea pig for every last treatment I could lay my hands on, but the outcome is an understanding of what was going on, and a theory which explains how this happened, what the causes were and what to do about it next.

I don’t want anyone else to go through the 15 years of hell that I’ve lived through - research, knowledge, understanding are the answer: the key to asserting some control over a previously rampant condition. I truly believe women can be returned to full health, and if I can contribute to that battle, that would be awesome.

This doesn't mean that it will be easy though. I have been extremely lucky in finding a sympathetic female GP who has been willing to take this journey with me - most GP's are not so enlightened, and in my experience, specialists have been less than helpful. It still takes tenacity to put a treatment plan together and let's face it, every woman's circumstances will be slightly different.

In short: be tenacious, ask for the treatment and support you deserve, and above all, don't take NO for an answer.
